Oh my, how we’ve been behind on our blogging. With conferences behind us and the holidays ahead, we are hoping we get back on track. We have some exciting news in the upcoming weeks so be sure to stay tuned.
We have a short week, but excited for our Thanksgiving performance on Tuesday and Wednesday. Last week we worked on a few Thanksgiving projects. We continued to add more leaves and birds to our Thanksgiving tree and it has been great to do a community project where our children can participate together and help each other with the process. During the week we collected a few leaves and put together a little turkey. They look very cute and seasonal. We also played with sand, made shapes and handprints cards. Our children are really enjoying our crafty projects and getting comfortable with using different materials like buttons, foam and glue.
For our calendar we have added counting days in Spanish, it’s been a lot of fun! I can see their interest in the language and I’m sure they are going to learn the numbers really quick! We’ll keep on introducing a few words each week since they seem to like it so much.
This week we had a couple of parents visiting us for story time. On Thursday Olivia’s mom stopped by and read “Kitten’s First Full Moon” by Kevin Henkes and “Too Many MMangoes” by Tammy Paikai. These are just a couple of Olivia’s favorites and our children really enjoyed them.
On Friday Ella’s mom visited and read a wonderful story about a little bee. It’s great to see our children react to parents visits, they seem to get more interested and attentive.
