Valentine’s Day is approaching and we have been using this opportunity to talk about love and friendship. The children worked on their own hand made Valentine cards and are choosing which medium to use to decorate – glitter, crayons, markers or chalk- they are enjoying the process. We are also creating more decor for our classroom. Our children had a wonderful time painting and glueing buttons and googly eyes. We talked about our best friends and our friendships in school.
Our letter of the week is S and we used colorful stickers and sand to decorate while learning about words beginning with this letter sound.
During group, the children enjoyed matching lids to different containers. We used glass and plastic containers with screw top and snap on lids. We also talked about their shapes and uses.
Our Pre-K group continues to work on their independence and learn what makes them tick. The Music Maker was a big hit and many of the children loved hearing familiar tunes like Twinkle, Twinkle and Mary Had a Little Lamb.
