Fun activities abound at The Cove School this week. Our preschoolers are exploring constantly and always coming up with new activities with our materials. A popular activity this week was stacking the unit blocks as high as they could. They made towers, castles and even a birthday cake and candles. Max really enjoyed walking around with the camera and taking photos. Some of the girls even obliged and posed on several occasions. We also experimented with different types of watercolors this week. We used special watercolor paper and coffee filters. It was so interesting to watch the younger kiddos learn the concept of watercolors. They really just wanted to dip their brushes in the water and not use the color. If they used the color they would then rinse it in the water first before applying to the paper. Once they painted their filters, they gathered the filter and tied a pipe cleaner around the middle to make butterflies. We had a few girls relaxing in their chairs reading a book and sipping tea. We talked about how important it is to relax and do things you enjoy.
Since I have figured out how to add slideshows to the blog, I am experimenting with that for individual posts. Let me know what you think!
