We had a wonderful time at our curriculum night Thursday. Some great food and good company followed by a short presentation. Over the years, my greatest success with children happens with a strong home/school connection. Curriculum night is just another way to connect that focuses more on your child’s day and other ways to be involved.
The children made their parents cute cards to show them one of their favorite things to do during the day.
We went over your child’s daily routine and sent home a booklet with an overview, pictures and descriptions of each part of our routine. We also explained a little about Letter Links which is an introductory literacy tool connecting sounds and letters using their name. Next, was an overview of assessments and the online program we use to communicate anecdotal notes to families. This will help keep families informed of progress and lay a good foundation for conferences which will happen twice a year or three times as needed.
We are excited to have several opportunities for families to connect with The Cove and be active participants in their education. Please be sure to sign up for volunteer opportunities listed near the sign in clipboard which also include field trips and storytelling.
Our last topic of conversation before Q & A was celebrations. We will celebrate all major holidays which all families are welcome to join. If there is a holiday that you celebrate that is not on our list, please be sure to let us know. We want to make sure everyone is included.
We had very little questions;) If anything comes up over the course of the year, please don’t hesitate to ask. And yes, our Tuesday and Thursday group will have show and tell!
