A week of animals and their adventures: One of our most fun activity of the week was making spiders, the children couldn’t wait to take them home and show them to their
parents. They were very excited with placing the eyes on the play dough and adding more and more colorful legs.
Another great activity was placing the tail on the donkey’s drawing. I added the donkey ears and even though the children were not very keen with the idea of being blindfolded they enjoyed placing the pieces on the right spot!
We worked together on 2 collages. One was a scenery with mountains, rivers and trees where the children had to place animals. They worked on coloring giraffes, elephants and crocodiles and each one got to place them in our drawing. We got different suggestions for why they should go by the lake or the river and we even got a flying crocodile!
Our second collage was about the ocean. We used paint and painted with brushes and sponges, our next step will be to add animals. On our last day of the week we got lucky with the weather and were able to play with water on our sensory table. This activity was very much the highlight of the week, t-shirts off included!
Pete read his favorite book to the class:”Panda bear Panda bear what do you see?” and Allison really started to react to the rest of the classroom. She played in the kitchen area and served Pete and Alvin some “food”.
