It’s been an exciting week here at The Cove School. We had several parents visit our classroom and hang out for our greeting. It has been really great seeing how excited the kids have been to see their mom or dad sitting with us. We love parent involvement. One of the parents really seemed please to recognize one of our days of the week songs. It is to the tune of The Adams Family.
Our main books this week were I Like Me by Nancy Carlson and Diary of a Spider by Doreen Cronin. We’ve been talking a lot about spiders lately since that spider visited our classroom a couple seeks ago. We experimented with chalk on black paper using only the primary colors (red, blue and yellow). The kiddos loved layering the colors. Turned out some really cool artwork. Miss Anna displayed our coffee filter butterflies in the window. Be sure to check it out. Latin Playground seemed to be the music of choice this week for large group. These preschoolers love dancing to music with instruments.
This spring we sold bulbs through Dutch Mill Bulbs as part of our fundraiser. Great program! I am so excited to announce that we raised $113 for our HighScope math curriculum. We are so thankful for our parent support. They shipped out this week so we should have them by the 30th.
Conferences are in a couple of weeks. Be sure to sign up. It has been great to see the children’s areas of strength and growth. This is very helpful to me for planning and using curriculum. If you can’t make the scheduled times, you will still receive a report on your child’s progress.
Have a great weekend!
