Mindfulness is “the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment by moment” (Kabat-Zinn, 2003, p. 145).
Mindfulness-based interventions have demonstrated benefits in clinical settings and in neurological studies. Given these demonstrated benefits, mindfulness-based education has been introduced in K-12 public and private schools. Come see how this is being done in and around Seattle!
Facilitator: Brody LaRock, Assistant Principal,
Panel Members: Renee Metty, Stacy Lawson, Ann Hollar, Lynne Brazg,
Janine Bloomfield, Richard Berger
