Our letter of the week is C. We did some fun projects with cottons and crayons. We also used boxes with sand to write the letter C with our finger. The children really enjoyed it. They were great at keeping the sand in the box and using paint brushes to draw and write also. We will be adding sand to our sensory table this week so we can continue to practice writing our letters.
We added puppets, new hats and costumes to our home area for work time. We incorporated new blocks and our children are having lots of fun learning how to use them. Play dough is a class favorite so of course we had many requests for that.
Our new wall collage is coming along nicely. It is the paper version of our water tank. We’ll be adding elements almost every week and use it as a tool to show the progress in growth of our salmon eggs as we learn more about these incredible fish.
The preK class is also continuing with their reading and math skills. We are excited to introduce continents in the next couple weeks as well as some science experiments. This week we finished our January self-portraits. Our word wall is slowly expanding and the children are doing a great job learning their sight words.
